CertiK Foundation holds the long-term mission and commitment of being the guardian of the blockchain galaxy. With the most recent unveiling of the CertiK Security Oracle, we would love to showcase more on this innovative combination of security technology and decentralization by inviting our community supporters to join the Security Oracle network as operators.

For those who missed our previous blog describing the Security Oracle technology in detail, please find your reference here to get some deeper insights.

In a nutshell, smart contracts can interact with the CertiK Security Oracle contract to get real-time security insights, materialized into a scoring system ranging from 0 to 255, thus gaining more visibility on any impending transactions and mitigating the risks of interacting with bad actors.

Is there any technical barrier for being an oracle operator? Definitely not! Whoever holds a strong belief in decentralization is welcome to participate in the network. Before describing the items needed for the game, let us quickly walk through the different parties that compose the Security Oracle network:

  • Business Chain: The targeted blockchain platform (that can support smart contract functionality) where CertiK Chain provides the Security Oracle to, i.e., Ethereum
  • Security Oracle Contract: The smart contract, deployed on Business Chain, that serves to accept security inquiries from end users like DeFi contracts
  • CertiK Chain: The underlying blockchain which natively facilitates the running of the oracle network and handling of security inquiries from Business Chains
  • Oracle Operator: The entity who connects to the network and fulfills Security Oracle tasks by having those tasks going through a bunch of Security Primitives
  • Security Primitive: Security Primitives are diverse service endpoints that tackle security considerations from different angles and respond with security scores
  • Oracle Syncer: the Cross-Chain component, actively managed by CertiK Foundation, that broadcasts security insights from CertiK Chain to the Business Chain

No worries if the above terminologies may be tough to understand, the good news is that most of the components are handled by us such that you only need to care about the specifications on being a qualified Oracle Operator. A definitive guide on Oracle Operator will be released shortly with the program launch and for this article let us focus more on the game details, aka the timeline and rewards!

Game Details

Timeline

September 8th 12:00pm EST to September 20th 23:59pm EST!

Rules

Within the game window, numerous Security Oracle tasks will be broadcasted to CertiK Chain for those connected Operators to execute. Tasks are funded in CTK and once completed will be distributed to winning Operators who provided the accepted Security Scores.

Your goal is to have a long-running machine with Operator software installed and on standby for oracle tasks as the software itself will handle everything for you. Once the game is completed, we will query CertiK Chain and sort out the list of Oracle Operators ranking by the fees they earn during the timeframe. All participating Oracle Operators in the ranking list will share the final reward pool based on their individual percentage over the total oracle task fees.

Reward Structure

Total points allocated for Game of Oracle Operators will be totaled with the Shentu Game scores. Participants of this program will split a reward pool of up to 819,200 points. All participants will be required to go through a KYC process to be eligible for receiving rewards at mainnet.

Sample Reward Results

Assuming 3 Oracle Operators joined this game and after the time window, their final ranking is (you can always check results yourself on CertiK Chain since it’s 100% transparent):

The rewards allocation would look like:

Note: For distribution fairness consideration, a top-performing participant is capped to a maximum reward of 102,400 points.

Points Redemption

For those winning Operators, your points will be added to the DeepWallet account registered at the Shentu Games.
